Teleia

Teleia

TELEIA (Duke of Zamindar / Tequila Rosa by Belenus)

Teleia is the first progeny of Duke of Zamindar and her debut on the Sluzewiec track was long awaited by everyone at Stajnia Urszula .

It often happens, that sires do not pass on the necessary chaacteristics to make good racehorses of their progeny. However, Teleia's performance on her debut race was more than satisfying. She led from the start and galloped well in a fast 1200m race to finish second to a very fast filly Kalinda. We are breeding the 18th female line, a traditional old Polish female line for years and generations and we know that the best attributes of horses from this line come with distance as stamina, soundness and a good temper are ever present ablilities.

We will not be explioting Teleia in her first year of racing, and we hope to have her run 3-4 races this year to gain the necessary experience to help her get a good start in her three yerar old campaign next year.

Duke of Zamindar

Duke of Zamindar

Two superstar entries to Duke of Zamindar's pedigree in 2018.

Top 2 year old Too Darn Hot and 3yo Lah Ti Dar both out of Dar Re Mi further strengthen the influence this female line has on the breed. Delsy's progeny has produced a sire in every generation. Duke's dam Dalannda is half sister to sire Daliapour. Duke's second dam Dalara is half sister to sire Darshaan. Her other half sister Darara has produced the highly succesfull Dar Re Mi that in turn has produced multiple blacktype winners herself including the current highest ranked 2yo Too Darn Hot. This female line does not stop producing superstars, making us all the more excited about the great looking progeny of Duke of Zamindar.

Mokotowska Stakes - our breeding success

Mokotowska Stakes - our breeding success

Tebinio's win in the Mokotowska Stakes gives great joy not only to us the breeders but to all Polish breeders. A Polish horse from a top Polish female line by a French sire standing in Poland beat, in great style, a French horse that was bought at one of the top auctions in Europe. Tebinio led from start to finish, not allowing his rivals to get close. The other horses in the race already showed potential and speed so the win the major Polish 2yo trial is all the more important. This female line is known for giving good stayers and fighters with 3x winner of the hardest race in the world, the Welka Pardubicka, Tiumen. We hope and believe thet Tebinio and other horses from this female line will give us many more reasons to celebrate in the future.

We believe in the female line of Toscanella, and have been investing in this female line for years. We bought Tebi's mare Tetyda at an auction in Kozienice. Tebi was great at the track and she has already proved to be good at stud. Her first foal, Tebiretta showed great talent and many good racing qualities before moving to stud, Tebinio is already one of the top horses and we are looking forward to his 3yo season as well as to his full sister's and brother debuts in the comnig two years.

Urszula Stud - First Decisions

Urszula Stud - First Decisions

The breeding of horses is all about permanent selection of mares and stallions, to breed the best with the best in order to constantly improve and obtain better genetic material, and what follows, better racehorses. The horses at Stajnia Urszula attracted general attention not solely with their pedigrees but with their results on the racetrack. If our breeding operation, which is comprised of mares by such horses as: Belenus, Doyen and Motivator will be strengthened by a stallion, Duke of Zamindar (Zamindar-Dalannda by Hernando) still young and racing, with a very strong pedigree, coming from a female line that has produced sires the likes of Darshaan and Daliapour, the interst in our breeding operation is fully justified.

We are not surprised by the early offers we have recieved from buyers. Foreign buyers wanted to aquire Duke of Zamindar in the winter, long before his impressive win on the opening day in the Dandolo Handicap 9f. They were surprised at our response as we were not interested in selling and did not even want to discuss prices even though the potential buyers made it clear they were ready to spend serious money on our colt. However, it took us alot of trouble and effort to locate, aquire and bring to Poland a horse with such pedigree and conformation, so we were not prepared to sell. Duke is a beautifully built horse and has also shown talent which lets us believe that he will be the source of joy for us on the racetrack aswell as at stud. Moreover, buyers from another country have shown interest in our foals and yearlings. Tequila Rosa, currently two years old was targeted while still a yearling at stud but we did not reach a deal and she is now on the racetrack togather with Tebiretta, preparing for the 2014 season at trainer Maciej Jodłowski's stables. Here on the training track she was spoted again and another request has been made as to her availability for sale. The problem is that like every other breeder we are anxious and hopefull as to the direction we have persued and so we are reluctant to sell at this time, waiting for our first crop to start racing. Tequila Rosa (Belenus-Tetyda) is the full sister of Tebi (5 wins) who had a very good career on the racetrack. She looks very promising and as Belenus her sire has passed, her value at stud is even greater. We have foundation mares from the acclaimed female line of Toscanella, which has among others given horses the likes of Tiumen (3x Wielka Pardubicka Winner) who has won the most demanding race in the world three consecutive times. We hope that all who are interested in the purchase of our horses understand thet we are currently not putting any up for sale due to the fact that we are only starting and expanding our breeding operation and wish to keep the mares we identified as founation mares of Stajnia Urszula Stud. Surely, if our breeding and racing will keep developing as it is planned, we will be putting future foals up for sale at auctions and on the free market.

Polish breeding prevails

Polish breeding prevails

The 2012 season was nothing short of spectacular with regard to the foreign imports to Polish racing. Horses bought abroad for well over a million euro were at first glance a cause for nightmares for Polish breeders. Everyone thought that Polish bred horses don't stand a chance with the well bred foreign imports.

The bloodlines and sires of the incoming horses caused an upstir if not panic among some of the breeders in Poland. The turf however veryfies everything. It turned out that we in Poland can breed horses capable of beating horses bred in England, Ireland, France, Germany and the US, especially in the middle and classic distances. In the Polish Derby 2013 the first four horses were Polich bred. Patronus (Ecosse-Palixodia) and Kundalini (Belenus-Kantaya) were also the winners of the Wielka Warszawska. Pillar was third in the Derby and won Iwna Stakes beating the track record for 2200m. Suo was fourth in the Derby and third in the Wielka Warszawska. Kundalini also triumphed in the Oaks completeing the domination of Polish bred horses in 2013. It has to be said however that the sprint were dominated by the foreign horses. Star Poker broke the track record on the 1400m and 1600m and Snowywhite beat the 1200m record. The western horses bred for speed in the last decade have achieved dominance in the 2yo category and in sprints, nevertheless in the 3yo and older and especially at routes over 2000m the Polish breeding prevails.

DERBY 2012

DERBY 2012

DERBY. Po starcie stawka biegła mocno zgrupowana. Zgodnie z przewidywaniami na froncie szybko znalazł się Cocoa Club, ale wbrew oczekiwaniom tempo nie było zabójcze. Blisko biegła Special Motivation i faworyzowany Indian General. Przed wyjściem na prostą konie jeszcze mocniej się zgrupowały i finiszowały ławą. Tymczasem przy kanacie zaatakował Lucky Peter. Długo bronił się przed atakującymi go rywalami. Po zewnętrznej doskonale finiszowała jednak Natalie of Budysin.

Rzecznej). Ponadto jego konie wygrały jeszcze dwie gonitwy tego dnia, King Jape czwartą i Koster ostatnią.
- Trudno mi się wypowiedzieć. Tyle szczęścia naraz. Myślę, że dopiero jutro to wszystko do mnie dotrze - wyznał nam rozpromieniony Adam Wyrzyk.

Jerzy Jednaszewski

Jerzy Jednaszewski

On Saturday, June 3, Special Motivation will run in a special race. The Jerzy Jednaszewski Memorial, is an opportunity to remember of one of the greatest if not the most outstanding person in the history of Służewiec. A great: jockey, trainer and later for many years chairman of the Technical Commission. Polish racing's best ambassador. A Warsaw Gentlemen of the track, with an aura unfolding the times in which the races were synonymous with class and elegance.

I met Mr. Jerzy when I was still a little boy who came with his parents on the track in the 80's. To this day, when I hear the word "Gentlemen," I see before me Jerzy Jednaszewski. Always elegant and gallant, smiling and filled with positive energy. Each of our meetings began with the heartfelt "Jurus," and a kiss on the forehead, which after all these years has not changed. Being in the company of the popular "Jerzyk" was pure pleasure, and caused me to feel like that little boy from the 80s, enchanted by the charm and class of Mr.Jerzy. Undoubtedly, everyone who had the opportunity to meet Jerzy Jednaszewskiego knows what I mean and it is certain that our memory of him, the stories of a fantastic jockey and man, will forever live forever as his races are  legendary.
